year of the snake!
Okay I am sort of leery of snakes in general so Year of the Snake for me is problematic but that is because I am a Westerner steeped in snake myths that paint snakes in a very bad light. (Well also I grew up in rattlesnake country but skip past that.)
Last year was Year of the Dragon and before that it was Year of the Tiger and I of course love tigers and dragons so this Year of the Snake is going to take some mental adjustments but I am working on it. Each morning in my journal I make a list of things I am grateful for and draw the year’s animal on the page and I am working on better drawings of snakes.
That is not to say all my other drawings were great, I suspect all my dragons looked sort of like Dolph with wings (come on Year of the Dog, I got this!), but either way.

*PS: When I wished my assistant Cris happy Year of the Snake he told me that is his birth year sign too, and Cris is great so Year of the Snake has that going for it. Happy Birth Sign Year, Cris!
