well that was a stupid question we are conquered

uncle samThis actually was —

A comment I made elsewhere [well here but not in this post] that maybe belongs as its own post and maybe expanded on a bit [ahem] :

You know Bush Sr. was knighted by the Queen of England? While he was in freaking office?

That is expressly in violation of the Constitution which outlaws titles.

“No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: and no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state.”

[American citizens accepting titles from the queen of England by the way include U.S. President Ronald Reagan, U.S. President George Bush, New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, entertainer Bob Hope, U.S. Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf, Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan, and Microsoft Guru Bill Gates to name a few. Think about that next time you are considering Giuliani for president. He is a subject of England. By choice.]

It is appalling the president of the United States of America would kneel to the head of a foreign nation to receive a title of servitude.

WTF?

More appalling two presidents would do it. Which they damn well did.

*at least he was only knighted that cannot be passed down and fuck me, i bet half the people in this country are too ignorant to know what the Constitution even says and would think it is an honor to be given a title by a foreign soveriegn and a reason to vote for someone, how freaking embarassing

  1. I did not know that about Bush Sr.
    Disgusting.

  2. Don’t forget he also barfed on the Japanese PM.
Just thought I’d toss that in there…or you know spit it out.

    amm

  3. Don’t know why our Queen feels the need to confer honours on foreign nationals in the first place. Maybe someone outstanding like Nelson Mandela, but not dodgy US presidents!

I don’t remember him being kinighted but the barfing incident was hilarious.

  5. All those guys you listed thought it was cool after they read “Patriot Games.”

Everybody wants to be Jack Ryan, I guess . . .

  6. If anyone other than a royal subject is knighted, it is strictly an honorarium, carrying no rights or privileges whatever, thereby making it legal, and no sin against the constitution.

The best thing George Bush ever did was took a half a nation of people that villify everything this nation has ever stood for, and turned them all into liberal constitutionalists.

    that just sorta tickles me.

other than that though, he’s as worthless as the last president, and the one before that, and the one before that, and….

It is a title from royalty from a foreign state. It is in violation of the Constitution.

Well it took two generations but Gramps got what he wanted.

  9. Interesting. I will ask the Old Man what he thinks of that.

So. Does this mean Arnie can now run for office? Perhaps someone should bring this to his attention!

So far no one has tried to overrule the natives only for president rule but I am sure Arnie would try. I do not think the Repubs would back him though too many sexual misconducts on his slate.

  12. Too many straight sexual misconducts you mean? lol

    Yes.

    [Wow you are wicked.]
