  1. Was that a DVD player? Those things have time bombs in them set to go off in one year.

It was a CD player/tuner/tape player. Everything works except the CD player part but that is the part I use so, you know, kind of problematic.

  3. It seems like everything breaks right after the warranty runs out. Funny how the manufacturers figure that out.

If that is the only thing that broke during your move, you came out relatively okay.
    Moving/breaking aren’t those words synonyms?

  5. My favorite all-time audio gadget was a JVC cassette player/tuner that had removable speakers. It was compact but still had great sound. And back in ’84, that thing rocked! I feel for ya Max!

I had a JVC and it lasted forever! I donated it to the movers, they were so happy to have it. The fancy thing I had to replace it didn’t last half as long.

It was a great player and really pretty, but it hated moves. Each move made it limp more and the last move was about the end of it.

  8. All good things must come to an end.

Sad? Cheer up! This is an opportunity to SHOP!

I figure ultimately I will get a little set of ipod speakers.

  10. Max, I got this iPod docking speaker thing for mine and it’s awesome. It’s made by Logitech (the same co that makes the mouse). I lucked out by choosing that one, since then it is on a lot of top ten docking station lists.
Someone has it on sale right now for $99, don’t remember where. The retail is $149.
It also charges the iPod and has a rechargeable battery in the speaker part itself, so you can use it without being plugged in.

I bet it is cute. I have to wait to see how bad the bloodbath is on the move. There are some computer issues going down. But one of these days.

  12. I love that thing. It’s like a little boombox with a big sound.

    Bloodbath? LOL.
