the great book war

I have books. Many many books.

Not as many books as I used to have. I used to have 1,000 pounds of books. I know this because I paid to move 1,000 pounds of books one time.

That was a lot of moves ago.

It is surprising how many books you at one time thought you could not possibly part with you are suddenly more than willing to part with to avoid packing and carrying those books one more time. I gave up a LOT of those books, shedding books and more books with each successive move.

Now there are nine boxes of books left.

These are books I once thought I could not live without.

They have been sitting in unopened boxes in a storage room since 2018.

There is a Good Will nearby. All I have to do is open those boxes and sort the books.

[Wow am I tired of opening boxes and sorting.]

I will be torn each time I look at one of those books. There will be a battle. A war. Between keeping something that has been boxed untouched since 2018, and giving it up to make space.

A book war. Ahhh!
