So I pick up this script today —
And one page in know.
It is one of my students.
I call Greg. I say, There is a problem with one of these scripts.
Greg says, Do not read it, just give it back.
And I do.
Here is the cool thing though. This was a baby student. One of my screenwriting 101 students. Who did not even have a script. Just a first idea.
And that baby grew up and wrote a whole freaking script and sent it to Nicholl.
My students so rock.

Why is that a problem? I’m confused.
That must be so cool to open a student’s script – shows what a great teacher you are.
Woeful, feng shui is one of the tags.
Which adds to the mystery…
I will say, Max should consider wearing those tights…you know, so her delicate alabaster thighs won’t get poked by unruly brads.
Sometimes the stars line up Max and you have the right people in your life … and you take these chances or you get brave enough to just be yourself and go for it.
It’s so corny but it’s so true because we all really have an impact on each other’s lives.
Which means we all count.
…way to inspire people Max.
Awe. Thanks, Anita. Smooch!
Woe, it would be a conflict of interest if I knew who wrote the script and knew the writer personally and evaluated the script because that could not be considered an objective evaluation. That would compromise the judging process and, if the person did win, that win could be questioned. So I have to pull myself off a script if I know who wrote it going in.
Such scruples. Pass some here lol
Funny girl.
Have you ever cheated for a friend? You know in Poker or Pool?
I wouldn’t as a judge but I’ve been known to clock in for a friend.
I’d go to my best friends house and do the dishes so her parents thought she came home from school and did her chores.
“I’d go to my best friends house and do the dishes so her parents thought she came home from school and did her chores.”
That is not cheating. That is stepping in.
